PUTTING A TOWEL UNDER A BATHING BABY

The Magen Avraham quotes the Sefer Chasidim that someone bathing a baby should not put a towel underneath him. The Biur Halacha says that if he cannot wash the baby unless a towel is underneath, one can permit it on Yom Tov if the towel was washed before Yom Tov.

WIPING YOUR HAND ON A TOWEL

SEIF 10
The Maharam did not wipe his hands on a towel until he removed most of the water from them by vigorously flaying his hands. He was worried that an excess of water would result with transgressing the Issur of laundering the towel on Shabbos. The Mechaber concludes that it is a good thing to keep this Chumra. The Rama says there is no reason to keep it, for even if there is some excess water which gets on the towel, it is only done in a manner which will make the towel dirtier.

SOAKING GARMENTS - PART TWO

We just described a Machlokes concerning the Heter of walking through a river wearing clothes. It is permitted either because there was no dirt on the clothes or because going into the river dirties the clothes. 
A Nafka Mina between the two explanations is discussed in the Gemara concerning pouring water around a Talis that is on fire. Those who allow soaking a garment if there is no dirt on it, may pour water directly on the Talis.
