FORGETTING TO SAY VAYECHULU BY KIDDUSH

The Magen Avraham in the name of the Mateh Moshe says that if one forgets to say Vayechulu by Kiddush, when he remembers he should say it over a cup of wine even in the middle of the meal. The Elya Rabbah says that he researched the Mateh Moshe but could not find any reference to him saying such a Halacha. The Rokeach says the entire reason for saying Vayechulu during Kiddush is in case it was forgotten during Davening. Therefore, if it was said during Davening, why must someone bring another cup just to fulfill the backup?

LOOKING AT THE NEIROS DURING KIDDUSH

The Mahril writes that one should look at the Shabbos Neiros when making Kiddush. The Gemara says that those who take large steps lose 1/500th of their sight and it returns looking at the Neiros during Kiddush Friday night. The Gematria of "Ner" is 250. Since there are two candles lit on Shabbos, the sum of the 2 candles are 500. This the Gemara says, helps to retrieve the five hundredth of the eyesight that was lost.

POSITION OF KIDDUSH

When making Kiddush, all the conditions of a Kos Shel Bracha must be present, including a full cup, one that no one has tasted, etc.

The Kol Bo says the person making Kiddush should really have to stand in honor of The King (Hashem). However, since the Kiddush should be said in the place where the meal is eaten, and since a meal is eaten while sitting, Kiddush should also be made while sitting. It is also not proper to start the Kiddush standing and then sit down somewhere in the middle in order to be Yoitze both Inyanim, since it would look foolish.
