Harav Sar Shalom says that a person can be Yoitze if, after making Kiddush, he moves to a place where he can see where his Kiddush was made. This is compared to two groups who can combine for a Zemin if they are able to see one another.

MOVING FROM ONE SIDE OF THE ROOM TO ANOTHER - PART TWO

SEIF 1 (Cont.)
The Shulchon Orech writes that after making Kiddush a person who has a change of mind and decides to eat in another corner of the room, is Yoitze.
The Magen Avraham says that this implies that only "if you made Kiddush" (in the past tense) B'Dieved, but L'chatchila it should not be done since there are those that say switching corners is not allowed.

MOVING FROM ONE SIDE OF THE ROOM TO ANOTHER

The Rambam and Rosh holds that the Gemara stated that the only problem is going from room to room. This implies that moving from one side of the room to another is not a problem.  The Rif says that you cannot even shift from one side of the room to another. He says the proof is that the Gemara does not allow going from one floor to the next.
