A SMALL PIECE MISSING FROM THE LOAF

The Toras Shlomim writes that if there is a piece missing from the loaf equal to the amount needed to take Challa (1/48th of a loaf) then the loaf is still considered whole. This is comparable to bread used for an Eiruv where if such an amount is missing it is considered a whole loaf. So too regarding Lechem Mishna, we consider this bread to be a whole loaf.

COMBINING A BROKEN LOAF

SEIF 1 (Cont.)
In the last Shiur, we stated that Lechem Mishana has to be whole. The Rokeach says that if the loaf breaks, the pieces may combined using a toothpick (sticking it in both pieces so it becomes one piece) so that afterwards it is not obvious that it is broken. This applies to both the loaf of Eiruv Chatzairos as well as Lechem Mishna.

PAS HABA B'KISNON(CAKES ETC.)

The Tosfos Shabbos says that a person can be Yoitze eating the Shabbos Seuda using Pas Haba B'Kisnon (cakes etc.). This is because a meal was established by using these cakes. When Pas Haba B'Kisnon is used to establish a meal, it has the status of bread requiring washing, Hamoitzie and Birchas Hamazon. Therefore one is Yoitze Seudas Shabbos using Pas Haba B'Kisnon just like with bread.
