FOLDING CLOTHING

SEIF 3
Someone is allowed to fold clothing on Shabbos so that it may be used later on that day. If it is not going to be worn again on Shabbos, then it may not be folded. The folding must be done by only one person, but not by two. Two people are able to fold the clothes more precisely and therefore keep the creases better, therefore it is forbidden since it is similar to fixing the garment. The Elya Rabba quotes the Yerushalmi that folding a Talis on a bench is like two people folding it, and therefore it is forbidden.

FOOD SPILLS ON A GARMENT

SEIF 2 (Cont.)
The Bahag says that if a mixture of flax seeds or some stew falls on a garment (and then dries), a person is allowed to peel off the dried-up mess. The Biur Halacha writes that the Mekor for this Halacha is in the Gemara which mentions how R' Yosef allowed Abaya to clean off his garment. According to the Girsa of R' Chananal, this story refers to a garment which was dirtied in the same fashion as described above. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that it must have all the stipulations of those detailed for brushing dew off a Talis(i.e. it must be on black and newer garments).

REMOVING EMBEDDED WOOD SLIVERS FROM A GARMENT

SEIF 2
If someone removes wood slivers or other impurities embedded in a garment on Shabbos, and if one is Makpid not to wear it until those impurities are removed, then he is Chayiv for fixing a utensil. The Bais Yosef explains the Rambam's Shita (on this Halacha) that if someone removes them absentmindedly, then it depends on whether he would wear those clothes if he had known what he was doing.
